At Catlin, we build custom homes and renovations with a strong focus on quality, detail, and a well-managed process. We’re looking for an experienced Red Seal Carpenter / Journeyman to join our team and contribute to projects that are thoughtfully executed from start to finish.
Working closely with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, you’ll play a key role on site, supporting progress across all phases of construction, from structural work through to final finishes.
This is a hands-on position for a carpenter who takes pride in their craft and understands the importance of precision and consistency.
You’ll be responsible for executing a range of carpentry tasks with care and accuracy, working from plans, and ensuring each stage of the build meets both design intent and construction standards. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe site is an important part of how we work, as is staying aligned with timelines and project expectations.
You’ll also work closely with the broader team and trades, helping maintain a steady workflow and contributing to a positive, professional job site.
We’re looking for someone with 5–10 years of post-apprenticeship residential carpentry experience who is confident working across multiple stages of construction.
Beyond technical ability, this role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to think ahead. You take ownership of your work, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and approach challenges with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
You’re also someone who leads by example—supporting apprentices on site and contributing to a consistent standard of craftsmanship across the team.
Our projects include custom homes and full-scale renovations, where quality and execution matter at every stage. From framing and structural work to detailed interior and exterior finishes, you’ll be part of delivering spaces that are built to last and thoughtfully put together.

This is a full-time position, with compensation ranging from $33–$35 per hour based on experience, structured around an 8.5-hour workday, five days per week.

The Project Coordinator plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the successful execution of multiple custom home and renovation projects at Catlin. Reporting directly to the Pre-Construction Manager and working closely with Site Supervisors, this role requires exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for facilitating communication between stakeholders, tracking project progress, maintaining accurate documentation in Buildertrend, supporting job
mobilization, coordinating trades, and assisting with project administration throughout both the pre-construction and construction phases.
The Project Coordinator helps keep projects organized, on schedule, and aligned with Catlin’s high standards for quality and client satisfaction.
As a Project Coordinator, you will report directly to the Pre-Construction Manager. Tasks, priorities, and responsibilities will be assigned based on company and project needs, requiring adaptability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Pre-Construction Coordination
● Act as a point of contact for clients during the pre-construction phase, ensuring clear communication and setting expectations.
● Coordinate with architects and designers during the initial design phase to ensure alignment with project goals.
● Support the Pre-Construction Manager by assisting with scheduling, pricing, budgeting, engineering coordination, and the review of architectural and design drawings.
● Read and interpret architectural drawings, renderings, and hand sketches to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
● Liaise with interior designers to manage and update finish schedules, maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout the design-build process.
●Document and track key discussions by taking meeting minutes and following up on action items.
● Maintain strong relationships with clients, trades, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate seamless collaboration.
Construction Support
● Participate in site visits with the Pre-Construction Manager and Site Supervisors to assess site conditions and accurately document and update selections, specifications, and relevant project details within Buildertrend.
● Meet on-site with clients as required, supporting project communication, answering questions, confirming details, and ensuring clarity regarding project progress.
● Facilitate clear and proactive communication with subcontractors and site teams to maintain project momentum and assist in resolving issues efficiently.
● Maintain detailed meeting minutes for site visits, trade meetings, and client discussions, ensuring action items are tracked and followed up on within Buildertrend.
● Assist Site Supervisors with coordinating material deliveries and scheduling requirements.
● Ensure updated drawings and project documentation are properly recorded, distributed, and uploaded into Buildertrend.
Trade Coordination
● Award jobs to subcontractors and issue Subtrade Agreements, ensuring project requirements, schedules, and contractual obligations are clearly communicated.
● Collect, update, and manage Form 1000s, WSIB certificates, insurance documentation, and other compliance requirements prior to project commencement.
● Ensure all relevant documentation and compliance records are completed, organized, and available both on-site and within Buildertrend before mobilization.
Job Mobilization
● Assist with site mobilization activities, including preparing site binders, site signage, health and safety documentation, and project startup materials.
● Coordinate the delivery of site essentials such as fencing, portable washrooms, and temporary site facilities.
● Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Manager and Site Supervisors to ensure all necessary resources, materials, permits, and documentation are in place for a
successful project launch.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
● Proficiency in Buildertrend or similar construction project management software.
● AutoCAD proficiency is considered an asset.
● Ability to read and interpret architectural and design drawings with strong attention to detail.
● Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage
multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
● Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● Strong time management skills, ensuring workflow efficiency across multiple projects and active job sites.
● Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic construction environment.
● Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
