We reached out to Catlin a few years ago to build our home, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. Working with Jay and the entire Catlin team was a great experience. We felt fully involved throughout the process, and they did an excellent job keeping us informed. Updates, pictures, and jobsite progress notes were shared through the Buildertrend app, and communication with the team was always easy and responsive.
Now that we’ve been settled for a year, the Tarion warranty process has been excellent. Catlin has been quick to address any nail pops or minor deficiencies, which speaks to their commitment to quality and customer care.
As with any large project, there were a few instances where certain items went over budget. However, Catlin was transparent and worked closely with us to find solutions and ensure we were satisfied. That level of responsiveness really stood out.

We found Catlin online in 2020 and, after meeting Jay, trusted our gut and hired them for our upstairs renovation. Our first impression was exactly who Jay and his team proved to be over the project - hardworking, honest, easy to work with, and deliver a beautiful and high quality finish. Jay is transparent about timelines, costs and is extremely fair. Any minor setback we did encounter (as happens with any construction project) was met with a complete "make it right" approach ,with the team doing after hour or weekend work, going to bat with subcontractors, whatever was necessary. I would give Jay and the whole Catlin team my whole and unreserved 5 star recommendation. The post-completion follow up is exceptional, and any small issues that came up were dealt with quickly.
I personally am picky with details and probably hard to work with that way. The end product with Catlin is high-end, high-quality, and tailored to small preferences.
We hired Catlin again in 2023 to do our larger, full-home renovation project where they took the rest of our house down to the studs. Having known them now through 2 major renovations and 5 years only adds to my recommendation - Jay, Charlie (designer), Chase, Derek, Taylor, the whole team are amazing to work with and will give you a beautiful home. I should mention that their work also won awards for best renovation, which you really can't beat when you pair it with the people you get to work with.

Catlin renovated our entire house in two separate stages. In both projects they kept to the agreed upon schedule and budget, and had great communication on progress through phone, email, and their app. They also provided a detailed cost breakdown throughout the project, and honoured their warranty for a few minor issues. Catlin Inc. did a great job installing the steel roof on the Barn Swallow structure in Dundas. There were 2 team members on the job site and when the weather degraded, Jay Catlin added a 3rd. team member in order to finish all work on the same day. Lifting and placing steel sheets on a windy and cold day is not an easy task. Everything was cleaned up and removed by the end of the day. I would like to recommend Catlin for their attention to detail and their ability to work safely and on time.
